Under normal conditions, both rotary meters operate; in the event of a steering pump failure, even heavy vehicles remain steerable via the smaller rotary meter in the dual-rotary-meter configuration. The ratio of normal to emergency steering displacement ranges from 2 to 7.
Characteristic Features:
1. With two rotary meters, heavy vehicles can often be steered without an emergency steering pump
2. One or several built in valve functions possible: pressure relief, shock, and suction in L + R; check valve in P and LS
3. Low steering torque 0.8 Nm to 3.0 Nm [7.08 lbf-in to 26.6 lbf-in]
4. High back pressure up to 40 bar [580 psi]
Product features
The OSPD is a dual-displacement steering unit enabling easy maneuvering of equipment across nearly all sizes. Under normal conditions, both rotary meters operate; in the event of a steering pump failure, even heavy vehicles remain steerable via the smaller rotary meter in the dual-rotary-meter configuration. The ratio of normal to emergency steering displacement ranges from 2 to 7.

Neutral Pressure Drop
This pressure drop is the value measured when the ON steerer is in neutral.
The pressure drop measures the differential pressure between P and T.
These values are valid at an oil temperature of 50°C [122°F] and a viscosity of 21 mm2/s (100 SUS).
The pressure drop curve is only valid for the spool group selected in the recommended flow range.
For example, for an OSPC 50 ON with a spool group with a flow range of 5-18 l/min [1.32-4.76 US gal/min], the pressure drop curve A only applies to the interval that would cause the pressure drop to exceed the corresponding value of 0-18 l/min [0-4.76 US gal/min], i.e. curve A. Values at 30 l/min [7.93 US gal/min] for a higher flow rate to the steering gear supply. (e.g. 30 l/min [7.93 US gal/min]).
